School Update 

To the students and families of LRD, 

It has been a fantastic first week of school at Le Roi Daniels! We have enjoyed welcoming our students back, seeing them settle into their classrooms and routines, and watching our school community come to life.  

Today, our students and staff came together for our Welcome Back School Assembly, where we celebrated the start of the year and reinforced an important message: everyone belongs at Le Roi Daniels. Students were introduced to the many adults throughout our school who are here to help them learn, grow and be successful, and we reviewed some of the important values of our Traditional Learning Centre (TLC) program. As part of our current Character Education focus, LRD is focusing on Respect and what it means to respect ourselves, others and our environment. Throughout September, staff will be looking for opportunities to “catch” students demonstrating respect and to recognize the positive choices they are making. We ended the assembly with a shared commitment: I respect myself. I respect others. I respect our school.

Upcoming Important Dates 

Meet the Teacher | Sept 10 | Virtual 

On the evening of Thursday, September 10, we are excited to offer a virtual Meet the Teacher opportunity for parents. This will be a chance to learn more about the classroom and the year ahead and hear important information to help support a successful start to the school year.  

To help us organize the evening, we ask families to sign up for the following timeslot based on their surname: 

• Surnames A–K: 6:00–6:25 p.m. 
• Surnames L–Z: 6:30–6:55 p.m. 

Conference booking will open on Tuesday, September 8 at 9:00 a.m. and can be completed through MyCBE. Families who require assistance with booking can access MyCBE School Conferences Booking technical support. We look forward to connecting with our families and sharing more about the exciting year ahead! 

LRD School Council and Parent Society 

Parent Council would like to wish everyone a wonderful start to the new school year! We’re looking forward to another great year of connecting, supporting our school, and creating fun experiences for our students. Our first Parent Council meeting will be on Tuesday, September 22nd at 6:00pm online. A link to this meeting will be shared on Monday, September 21st. 

We’re looking for a parent volunteer to be our Fun Lunch Coordinator! If you’re organized, enjoy helping out, and would like to get involved, we’d love to hear from you! Please email lrdchair@gmail.com if you are interested.

School photo days are coming up! Please see the important dates below: 

• Monday, September 14: Individual and group photos for students, with the exception of our Tuesday/Thursday Kindergarten students. 
• Tuesday, September 15: Individual and group photos for our Tuesday/Thursday Kindergarten students. 

Photo retakes will be available on October 19 & 20. Additional information about school photos and ordering will be shared with families as it becomes available.

• Monday–Thursday: 8:00 AM–2:30 PM 
  Lunch: 11:47 AM–12:25 PM 
  Friday: 8:00 AM–12:00 PM 

Kindergarten 

• Monday/Wednesday Class: 
  Monday and Wednesday: 8:00 AM–2:30 PM 
  Alternate Fridays: 8:00 AM–12:00 PM 
• Tuesday/Thursday Class: 
  Tuesday and Thursday: 8:00 AM–2:30 PM

Morning Arrival 

Outdoor supervision begins at 7:45 AM, and school doors will open at this time for soft entry. Students are welcome to enter the school beginning at 7:45 AM and make their way to their classrooms. Classes begin promptly at 8:00 AM. 

We appreciate families helping students arrive on time and ready for a great day of learning!

  • Room 24-25 (Portable Doors) 
• Late students: after 8:00 am use Main Entrance 

Lunch Schedule | Kindergarten - Grade 3 

Lunch is from 11:47am –12:25pm. Students are encouraged not to bring peanut products for lunch, and as a friendly reminder, microwaves and hot water are not available for use.
