School Update 

To the students and families of LRD, 

This past week, all staff and students at Le Roi Daniels participated in a school-wide fire drill. Each year, schools are required to complete a total of six planned fire drills, with three occurring before Winter Break. Our staff and students did an excellent job following our ERP (Emergency Response Plan), exiting the building in a calm, safe, and respectful manner. We will aim to complete our third fire drill by mid-November, as we want to ensure these important practices take place before the colder weather arrives and on days when the weather cooperates. Thank you to our students and staff for taking these safety practices seriously and helping ensure we are prepared in the event of an emergency. 

We would like to extend a sincere thank you to all of the families who joined us for our first School Council meeting of the year on Tuesday, September 22. We were very appreciative of the large turnout and the time families took to participate, ask questions, and connect with our school community. Active participation from our parent community is a significant driving force behind the success of Le Roi Daniels, and we truly value the partnership, perspectives, and support our families bring to our school.

Terry Fox Update 

As a school community, we raised $287 online and $218.65 in cash, bringing our grand total to an incredible $505.65! Thank you to everyone who contributed and helped support this important cause. 

Orange Shirt Day | September 29th 

For Orange Shirt Day, our school will be hosting an assembly on Tuesday, September 29th at 9:00am. Doors open at 8:45am if any parents would like to attend. 

Students are encouraged to wear orange shirt tops and regular uniform bottoms on Tuesday. 

As we continue to advance the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's Calls to Action, we recognize the importance of ongoing learning, meaningful action, and building respectful relationships with one another and our communities. 

Sept 30 Community Events in Moh’kins’tsis  (Calgary) 

All CBE staff, students, families, friends, and neighbors are invited to continue learning and show support at the 5th annual National Day for Truth and Reconciliation & Orange Shirt Day event taking place at the Confluence Historic Site on Wednesday, Sept. 30 from 9-10:30 a.m. This important community gathering is a collaboration between the City of Calgary, CBE, Calgary Catholic School District, Calgary Police Service, Calgary Fire Department, and The Confluence. A CBE group photo will be taken at the CBE Smudge Tipi at the end of the event. Meet us there! 🧡

LRD School Council and Parent Society 

Thank you to everyone who attended our Parent Council meeting this past Tuesday! We truly appreciate your time, participation, and support. 

Mark your calendars! Our next meeting will be held Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. online.

Request | End of Day Pick Up Changes 

To help us ensure a safe and organized dismissal for all students, we ask families to please notify the school office of any changes to their child’s end-of-day transportation or pick-up plans no later than 30 minutes before dismissal. Requests can be shared with the office by phone/voicemail (403-777-6420) or email. Providing advance notice allows our office team to communicate changes to staff before students begin transitioning to buses and dismissal areas. Last-minute changes or arriving at the school without prior notice can make dismissal challenging and increase the possibility of a mix-up. Thank you for helping us keep dismissal safe, smooth, and organized for everyone. 

Kindergarten | Annual Eye Exam Information 

Eye See…Eye Learn™ is a program that provides kindergarten-aged children in Alberta with an eye exam from an optometrist. If required, kindergarten children also receive a free pair of eyeglasses.
