Dear Parents,

We would like to first thank you all so much for taking the time to come, connect with teachers and discuss your child’s learning through Parent- Teacher conferences.  Your commitment to LRD and your child’s educational success is greatly appreciated J

1) Well – it is official, it looks like the dreaded snow is coming next week!!   Please remember to send your children with all appropriate weather related clothing (winter jacket, mitts/gloves, hat/toque) and please make sure all items are labelled!  All students should have their black inside shoes here at school already, but you have not done so, please ensure that their inside shoes are here at school where they remain during the school year.  Students should be coming in boots and will not be able to wear them in the school so inside shoes are mandatory.  Thank you for helping with this.

2) With snow, comes poor road conditions!  Please ensure you are at your bus stops on time, both on the way to school and for pick up.  It is important that you arrive on time and WAIT if the bus is late as we don’t want children waiting in the cold and snow for parents who are not there.  It is strongly recommended that you create a plan with another parent at the bus stop in case you are not there and they can pick up your children.  It is also a great way to get to know other families at LRD.

3) Reminder – if you are wanting Fun Lunch on Wednesday Oct 25, your order MUST be submitted before midnight tonight (Friday).   Tuesday/Thursday kindergarten should NOT order this lunch.

4) We have our School Council meeting on Tuesday Oct 24 ONLINE @ 6:30 pm.  If you are wanting to be part of this meeting, please email Mrs. Taylor at adtaylor@cbe.ab.ca before noon on Monday and the link will be sent Monday night.

5) PHOTO RETAKES – please remember to email your child’s teacher before Monday if you are wanting them to have retakes on Monday Oct 23  (Tuesday Oct 24 for Tues/Thurs Kindergarten).  Unfortunately, if we do not receive an email request, your child will not be able to have a retake photo done.

6) RESPONSIBILITY Assembly – there will be an assembly on Oct 30 @ 1:30pm hosted by the Grade 2’s in Rooms 14,15,16.   Parents are welcome to attend.
