Dear Parents,
Welcome to Fall – the weather is beautiful, the colors are amazing and the Northern lights have been fascinating!
There continues to be lots happening at the school so please be sure to read the messages below so you don’t miss anything.
- Friendly reminder – if you have not yet registered for noon supervision, please be sure to do so on your MyCBE account. ALL LRD students need to be registered as none of our students go home for lunch and require supervision during the lunch time. Thank you for registering.
- Our next Fun Lunch is Wednesday Oct 23. If you are interested in having your child participate, please be sure to place your order BEFORE midnight on Friday Oct 18. Reminder that T/Th Kindergarten students should NOT order this meal.
- Parent Teacher Conferences are happening on Oct 24 & 25. This is an important time to come and meet with your child’s teacher to discuss their progress and see how they are doing in school. You will be able to book your conference time starting on Monday Oct 14 at 8:00am through your MyCBE account (Book & Manage meeting times – purple box). Conference times are:
- Kindergarten families have conference times all day on Oct 24 (no classes for students)
- All families can book Thursday between 3:30-8:00pm
- All families can book Friday between 10:00-12:00
- Book Fair will be here during conferences! Students will have an opportunity to look at new books from Scholastic and purchase items from the book fair during the week of conferences. Details will be provided in next Friday’s weekly message.
- Photo Retakes – friendly reminder that if you child was away during photo day or you require a retake of your child, please be sure to email your child’s teacher BEFORE Monday Oct 21 to ensure we add your child’s name to the list for retakes. If your child’s teacher does not receive an email request for retakes, unfortunately, your child will not be sent for photos on Oct 21 or (22 for T/Th Kindergarten students). Thank you
- Cheque Writing Campaign – thank you to those families who have already sent in the wonderful donations to help with the School Council Fundraising Society. If you have not yet had a chance, please send in your donation as it helps provide buses for fieldtrips, special events at school and performances for students. Your generosity is greatly appreciated. Please send cash or cheques (made out to Le Roi Daniels Fundraising Society) by Friday October 18.
- School Council meeting is on Tuesday Oct 15 @ 6:30pm at the school. Babysitting will be provided. Please plan to join us for this wonderful planning meeting as we get ready for our Family Movie night in November.
Finally, as we head into this long weekend of THANKSGIVING, we want to thank you for choosing to be part of Le Roi Daniels. We thank you for your commitment, support and encouragement towards all of our staff and the amazing activities that happen here at the school. We would also like to encourage you and your family to reflect on how fortunate we are here in Calgary. When we look at the floods, storms, wars, and catastrophes that are happening all over the world right now, we need to take some time to reflect and be thankful for all safety and security we have each day in Calgary and Canada.
