School Update
To the students and families of LRD,
This week, we would like to highlight our ongoing character education focus on Respect. Over the past little while, Mr. Laidlaw and Ms. Robinson have had the opportunity to visit all classrooms to share a story and engage students in meaningful conversations about the importance of showing respect. Throughout these visits, it was wonderful to hear students share their understanding of what respect looks like, sounds like, and feels like in our school community. A specific focus in these conversations was discussing what respect looks like when we take a bus. It was evident that our students have many thoughtful examples of how they can demonstrate respect towards themselves, others, and their learning environment. We look forward to continuing to build on these conversations as we work together to make respect an important part of our daily interactions at Le Roi Daniels.
Have a wonderful weekend.

Come Volunteer at Le Roi Daniels
We welcome and appreciate volunteers who support our classrooms, field trips, and other activities throughout the school year. Volunteers play an important role in supporting our students and school community.
As volunteering places adults in a position of trust with students, staff, or school property, all adult volunteers are required to have a valid security clearance.
To help families complete the required steps through their MyCBE account, we have created the following resource:
Come Volunteer at Le Roi Daniels School
Additional step-by-step instructions and information about volunteering with the CBE can also be found here:

Thank you for your interest in volunteering and for supporting the students and staff at Le Roi Daniels School. We greatly appreciate your involvement in our school community.
Lunchroom Fees
Students at Le Roi Daniels must be supervised during the lunch period. The noon supervision fees help cover the costs associated with providing this service. For more information, please review Administrative Regulation 3048 – Noon Services and the Education Act.
If you have not yet registered your student for noon supervision, please visit the CBE’s step-by-step registration instructions for assistance.
Transportation Fees | School Bus Services
As an FYI, transportation fees for students accessing school bus services will be added to your MyCBE account during the month of October.
For additional information about transportation, fees, and school bus services, please visit the CBE School Bus Services webpage.
Cultural Celebrations
At Le Roi Daniels School, we believe it is important to take time to acknowledge, recognize, and celebrate the diverse cultures, traditions, and backgrounds that make up our school community.
We would like to recognize Enkutatash (Ethiopian New Year – September 11), Tsukimi (Japan’s Moon Viewing Festival – September 25), and Chuseok (Korean Mid-Autumn Harvest Festival – September 25).
Looking ahead, we would also like to acknowledge Durga Puja (Hindu Festival – October 17–21) and Dussehra (Hindu Festival – October 20).
These celebrations provide meaningful opportunities to learn about and appreciate the traditions and cultures of others. Throughout the school year, we will continue to acknowledge and recognize cultural celebrations as part of our commitment to fostering a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive school community.
Uniform Reminder
As a friendly reminder, students are expected to wear their Formal Uniform on Mondays, while the Informal Uniform may be worn on informal uniform days. Families looking for additional information about uniform expectations can visit our Uniform Requirements webpage, which provides details about both Formal and Informal Uniform requirements, as well as links and information about purchasing uniform items.

Pedestrian Safety Reminder
As a reminder, we ask all families to help us reinforce safe pedestrian practices when travelling to and from school. Please avoid jaywalking and encourage students to use the designated crosswalks where a crossing guard is present. Taking a few extra moments to cross safely helps keep our students and families safe and sets a positive example for all members of our school community. Thank you for your continued support in keeping safety a priority around our school.
