Dear Parents,

We hope you are enjoying your extra long weekend!

As we head into October, there are many important information items for you to be aware of so please be sure to look at the messages below.

  1. There are many upcoming field trips for most grades and we need volunteers.  If you have your police clearance and are free to help with any of the fieldtrips listed in the October calendar (even if it is not your child’s grade or class), please call the office to see if volunteers are still needed.   We need MANY more volunteers for our Kindergarten fieldtrip on Oct 10!
  2. Thank you so much to all the families who have already paid your school fees online.  There are still some families who need to go to their MyCBE account, scroll to fees and pay the school based field trip fees. Please pay these fees before Oct 15, 2025.  Thank you so much.
  3. Want to know how your child is doing in school??  You can go onto your MyCBE account, find your child’s portal and see current marks for assignments listed.  There will be active marks showing for Literacy and Math this Friday, Sept 27 and there will addition courses and marks showing at the end of every month during the school year.
  4. Parent roles and responsibilities for bussing – we seem to be having many parents who are approaching our bus drivers who are requesting/demanding that their child be moved to a different seat on the bus!  I would like to remind you that parents do not get to choose where students sit on the bus and should not be approaching the driver to discuss seating plans.  The seating plans were created by Mrs. Taylor and the drivers have the authority to move or change students based on student behavior.  These decisions are made and discussed between the drivers and administration.   If your child is experiencing difficulty on the bus – THEY need to talk to the driver to try and solve a problem and if it cannot be fixed, they can come and see administration for help.  Parents should be encouraging student independence and advocacy without “fixing it” for their children.  We all want successful, contributing and independent children in society and it begins in elementary school.  Thank you for helping your children be the best they can be!
  5. As we head into a new month, please be sure to read our October Newsletter as well as our October Calendar.
