Dear Parents,

I can’t believe we are already into the middle of November and we don’t have piles of snow on the ground!  Fingers crossed it stays away until the Christmas break. :)

1)     Thank you to all those families who came to support School Council by attending the Family Movie Night.  Thank you to all the volunteers who also made that evening successful.

2)     We would like to congratulate 2 classes for bringing in the most money for our School Council Cheque Writing Campaign.  Rm 17 – Ms. Coulling raised $395 and Rm 18 – Ms. Pawlick raised $391.85.  Since they were so close, both classes enjoyed a slice of cheese pizza on Tuesday, November 5 to celebrate.  Thank you to all for your generous donations!

3)     Communication with the school & teachers – we would like to remind you of a few communication expectations as shared in the parent handbook in August.  If your child is ill, please be sure to let your child’s teacher AND THE OFFICE know as teachers may not have a chance to check their email before school begins to let the office know.  We would also like to remind you that teachers have their own families and personal lives outside of the building and they have been asked to not respond to any emails after 5pm.  If you have sent an email to your child’s teacher, please allow them 24 hours (or the next school day if there is a weekend or break) to respond and get back to you.  They will rarely be able to connect with you during the school day as they are busy teaching your children. :)

4)     As we head into the FALL break (no school Nov 8-13), we would like to remind you to take some time to remember the joys and freedoms we have in this amazing country and thanks we owe to those who fought for our freedom.  Enjoy the time with family and friends, enjoy nature and the beauty that Fall provides, and talk with your children about how each one of us can make choices and decisions to make Canada even better by showing respect, acceptance and embracing diversity.

Thank you for your continued support and commitment to Le Roi Daniels.  Enjoy your break!

Sincerely,

Andrea Taylor – Principal @ Le Roi Daniels
