Dear Parents,

It was another busy week at LRD!  Thank you to all the parents who volunteered this week for the Grade 3 field trips. I heard that everyone had a wonderful time and the park did a great job.  We have another busy week ahead for the end of November.

1. If you have not yet signed up for parent - teacher conferences on Thursday, November 27 or November 28, please ensure you do so as it is an important time to learn how your child is doing in school.
2. Photo Retakes are happening on Monday & Tuesday (T/Th Kindie only). If your child requires a retake, you must email your child’s teacher BEFORE 7am on Monday or unfortunately your child will not be sent for photos.
3. Book Fair – Students will have an opportunity to browse our Scholastic Book fair next week.  They will be able to write down some of their purchase requests to share with you as parents.  If you decide that your child is allowed to make any purchases, please send cash with them to school (in a safe place in their backpack) and they will have an opportunity to go “shopping” on Thursday during the school day. The book fair will also be open to parents during conferences Thursday evening between 3:30 – 7:30 and Friday between 8:00- 11:00 where credit card can also be used.  It’s a great way to pick up some “secret Christmas presents” 😊.
4. ALL school fees are now considered past due!  These fees cover the costs of all field trips, both offsite and onsite events.  If you have not yet paid these fees, you will be receiving a separate email as a friendly reminder to pay them in full by Monday December 1.
5. For your reference, you can find our School Result Report for 2024-25 school year on our website as well as our 2025-26 School Development Plan.  Both of these documents were shared with School Council on Tuesday and are now accessible to all families through the website.

Although the following information below is not relevant until the new year, I wanted to make sure you are aware of some date changes so you can mark your calendars.

1. Student – led conferences that were originally scheduled for March 19 & 20 have been changed to 1:1 parent – teacher conferences on February 26 & 27.  This means there are NO Kindergarten classes on Thursday February 26 but T/Th students will attend on Thursday March 19.
2. First Term Report Card has been delayed due to labor action and students missing school.  Report Cards will now be available on February 24 instead of January 31.
3. There will be additional date changes for Kindergarten only and they will be sent in a separate email.
