Dear Parents,

What a beautiful day to start the weekend!

There are a few updates for this coming week, so please take a moment to read what is happening at LRD.

  1. Students are invited to participate in a reading challenge from Mrs. O’Neill (our school librarian).  Details can be found on your child’s Google Classroom page and Monday May 12 is the last day to have them bring their ballots for the draw.  Winners will be announced on Tuesday May 13.
  2. How is your child doing in school?  Be sure to check your child’s Powerschool account to see updated marks, rubrics and comments for all subject areas.  There are updated marks as of April 30.
  3. Wednesday, May 7 is Hats on for Mental Health Day. Students are encouraged to wear a hat on Wednesday to support the understanding and awareness of mental health in our society.  This is not a casual day and uniforms are still required.
  4. Hip Hop Dance performance is on Friday, May 9 @ 10:30 at the school in the gym.  Parents are invited to come and watch this annual dance performance.  If you would like to attend, please plan to be here by 10:15 at the latest as this is a very popular parent event.  Students are invited to wear CASUAL clothing for this fun day!  Sunglasses, gold chains and caps are encouraged to showcase their hip hop clothing style 😊
  5. Uniform Bundles, Sales and Dates for next year….

6. Important Upcoming DATES:

  • Bus Registration for 2025-26 school year is open May 8, 2025. This needs to be completed by all students who are planning on using the bus, even if they already currently use it. Registration is required each year.
  • Used Uniform Sale is on Monday, June 23 from 2:15-3:00 – more details will be in the June Newsletter
  • Next year teacher emails will be coming on August 26
  • Ice Cream Social is Wednesday, August 27 between 11:30 -12:30
  • First Day of School is Tuesday, September 2 @ 8:00 – please be back from holiday before that!

Thank you so much for your ongoing support as we begin to get ready for the end of this school year and prepare for a great start to next year!

Enjoy your weekend,

Andrea Taylor – Principal @ Le Roi Daniels School
