Dear Parents,
Welcome to another beautiful weekend!
There is lots happening over the next few weeks so please be sure to read the messages below so you don’t miss anything.
1) Thank you to all those parents who came out to support our students during the HIP HOP performance. Special shout out to Mrs. Ghertsos for creating and leading all those amazing dances!
2) Many field trips are happening this week:
- M/W Kindergarten is off to the Zoo on Monday,
- Rm 16 & 19 to the Leighton Center on Tuesday,
- Rm 14 & 17 to the Leighton Center on Wednesday,
- Rm 15 & 18 to the Leighton Center on Thursday.
If you are one of the designated volunteers for any of these fun events, please be sure to arrive at the school when teachers have asked and please be sure to park across the street (not in either of the school parking lots). We are crossing our fingers for great weather for all days!
3) School Council AGM is happening on Tuesday, May 13 ONLINE. We are in need of new executive members so if you are interested, please be sure to attend this important meeting. The roles and responsibilities for executive members can be found in our May Newsletter (sent on April 25 or on our school website). We will also be voting on the outdoor classroom space. If you are interested in attending this meeting, please email adtaylor@cbe.ab.ca BEFORE 8am on Tuesday to receive the meeting invite. If you have attended meetings in the past, you will automatically receive the meeting link.
4) Transportation Registration DELAY – everyone should have received an email from CBE Transportation on Wednesday evening sharing that there is going to be a delay in the 2025-26 registration for transportation. Once they have resolved the issue, they should send you another email to let you know it is open. Please remember EVERYONE who may be using the bus next year, needs to register BEFORE JUNE 8 to ensure they have your address when calculating the bus stops. Even if you are currently using the bus system, you will still need to register again for next year – registration is an annual process and does not carry forward. Thank you.
5) Fun Lunch is happening on May 22. If you would like your child to participate, please be sure to place your order before midnight on Saturday May 17. Please note that Monday/Wednesday Kindergarten should NOT order this meal as it is not their day 😊
6) Friendly reminder that there is no school on Friday May 16 or Monday May 19 so please enjoy your extra long weekend!
Finally, as I close off, I would like to wish all the moms in our community a very HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY! I hope you are spoiled with love, joy, and kindness sprinkled with many hugs and kisses from each of your children this weekend! None of us would be here without our moms, so be sure to share your love and gratitude with all the moms in your lives this weekend.
