Dear Parents,
What an absolutely beautiful start to the month of March! We are hopeful that spring is on the way and the weather will continue to be nice outside.
Just a couple of reminders for you:
1) Parent Teacher conferences have been moved online for Mar 20 and 21 – please see the message I sent on Tuesday, March 4 for details. You will be able to book your conference time starting on Monday, March 10 at 7am!
2) All library books and homereading books should be returned to the school for Friday, March 14 so we can check inventory before the Spring Break.
3) Fun Lunch is scheduled for Thursday March 20. If you would like your child to participate, please ensure you place your order on Healthy Hunger before midnight on March 15. Please note that NO KINDERGARTEN student should be ordering this meal as there is no school for Kindergarten students on March 20.
4) Holi Festival is being celebrated on Friday, March 14 by the Hindu community. It is a celebration that marks the beginning of Spring and is sometimes referred to as the festival of love, where everyone focuses on having positive relationships and giving up resentment towards others. This message is one that we can all appreciate, respect and practice in our school community.
To honor and respect this holiday and celebration, all students are invited to wear bright, spring, festive colours on Friday March 14 (Casual day) to welcome the Spring.
** If this is a holiday that is part of your Hindu family culture and celebrations, please email your teacher before 8am on Thursday, March 13 and we will have those specific students gather for a group photo to honor this holiday.
5) As we are planning for next year, if you know your child will not be attending Le Roi Daniels for the 2025-26 school year, please let us know ASAP as we do need to fill those positions from our lottery and we need to ensure your child’s files go to the correct school for next year. Thank you for helping us with the planning process.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend and enjoy the beautiful weather.
Sincerely,
Andrea Taylor – Principal @ Le Roi Daniels
