Dear Parents,

Well it looks like we have a typical unpredictable May long weekend – a little sun, a few clouds and some rain (at least there is no snow!)

We do have a few updates for you so please be sure to read below so you are in the loop!

  1. Fun Lunch – is on Thursday May 22. If you would like your child to participate, please be sure to place your order on Healthy Hunger before midnight on Saturday, May 17. Reminder that NO Kindergarten should not order this Fun Lunch as T/Th students are at the Zoo that day!
  2. Outdoor Classroom space – we are excited to share that we will be building an outdoor classroom space on the front side of the school beginning in the next few weeks with it being ready to use for the start of the 2025-26 school year. As construction is taking place, I would like to remind all families to talk with their children about staying away from the equipment and construction area, even when they are not actively working.  We want to keep everyone safe and we look forward to a wonderful new learning space.
  3. We had our School Council AGM on Tuesday of this week and I would like to personally welcome and thank the new school council executive members for their commitment and dedication to helping make Le Roi Daniels great!

·       School Council Executive Members:

·       Co- Chair – Rebecca Garrie

·       Co- Chair - Grace Ebade-Abu

·       Secretary – Debbie Dhayor

·       Treasurer – Shelby Chong

·       Key Communicator – Parashar Kamble

·       Casino Coordinator – Manika Suri

  1. Grade 3 Farewell Assembly is on June 16 @12:45pm.  The Grade 1 choir will be performing.  Parents are welcome to come and celebrate the ending of another great year and send our well-wishes with the Grade 3’s as they head off to a new school in the Fall. If you are planning on attending, please be sure to be at the school by 12:30 to ensure you have a seat before the assembly begins.
  2. Although we are getting ready for the end of the school year, there is still LOTS of learning and assessments being done. Therefore, it is important that homework is still being completed and submitted each week. If you are planning on leaving before the last day of school, it is very important that you let us know in advance so we can ensure all assessments are completed and personal items are sent home if your child is not here for the last day. Items that are not collected by June 27 will be disposed of!

Thank you for your commitment and dedication as we start to get ready for the final month of another great school year!  We hope that you enjoy this wonderful long weekend with family and friends.

Sincerely,

Andrea Taylor – Principal @ Le Roi Daniels
