Dear Parents and Guardians, 

 

It is hard to believe we are already heading into the last week of February! It feels like we were just preparing for the winter break, and now we are well past the halfway point of the school year. As the weather begins to warm—hopefully for good—we kindly ask that students continue to come prepared with their full outdoor winter gear. This is especially important next week, as Mrs. Ghertsos will be taking students outside for snowshoeing in PE. 

 

Please take a moment to review the important information below: 

 

Monday, February 23, 2026 

  • Kindergarten Field Trip: All Kindergarten students will attend school on Monday, February 23 for a field trip to TELUS Spark. Please ensure your child wears their formal uniform. 
  • A heartfelt thank‑you to our volunteers—these meaningful learning experiences would not be possible without your support. 
  • Honesty Assembly: Grade 1 students in Rooms 12, 13, and 20 will be hosting our Honesty assembly at 10:30 a.m. in the gym. 
  • Families are welcome to join us; doors will open at 10:15 a.m. We look forward to seeing you there! 

 

Tuesday, February 24, 2026 

  • No School for ALL Kindergarten 

 

Wednesday, February 25, 2026 

  • Pink Shirt Day: Students are invited to wear a pink shirt with their regular uniform bottoms to help promote kindness, respect, empathy, and belonging throughout the LRD community. We look forward to celebrating this important day together. 
  • Fun Lunch: If your child would like to participate in Fun Lunch, please place your order on Healthy Hunger before Friday, February 20, 2026, at midnight.  
  • Reminder: Tuesday/Thursday Kindergarten students should not order this meal. 

 

 Thursday, February 26, 2026 

  • Parent Teacher Conferences - Please book your conference time through PowerSchool. 
  • Kindergarten Conferences 8:15am–11:45am, 12:30pm–2:30 pm, 3:30pm–7:45 pm 
  • A reminder to kindergarten families: Due to daytime conferences on Thursday, February 26, there is no school for kindergarten students on that day. 
  • Grades 1-3 3:30 pm – 7:45 pm 

 

Friday, February 27, 2026 

  • Parent Teacher Conferences 8:00 am – 12:00 pm 
  • There is no school for all students on Friday, February 27.
