Dear Parents,

Another week done and getting closer to the Christmas break!

  1. With the anticipated break just around the corner, our students are getting very excited and are requiring some additional reminders for expectations, especially on the bus rides! Can you please be sure to remind our children each day to be SAFE on the bus which means to stay seated, always be respectful, face forward and have their ears open to hear the driver’s expectations.  We all want to make sure children are safe to and from school.  All students have been reminded of these expectations multiple times, by multiple people so in the event that your child receives a personal bus misconduct moving forward, they may be removed from the bus for a period of time as the many email reminders sent home to all parents are considered as communication to talk to your children regarding safety expectations and that all children have also been spoken with.  Personalized and individual bus misconducts usually only come after the driver has spoken with your child multiple times, or there is physical aggression.  The drivers are unable to speak to every parent, every time there is a concern and we hope that in speaking with children they show improvements, however if the driver continues to talk to your child without improvements, that is when a bus misconduct is provide and consequences may occur through removal from the bus for a period of time. We thank you for helping us keep your children safe while on the bus and providing reminders to them daily.
  2. Fun Lunch is on Wednesday Dec 17.  Please be sure to place your order on Healthy Hunger before midnight on Friday Dec 12.   Reminder that the T/Th Kindergarten classes should NOT order this fun lunch.
  3. GENEROSITY in action – as mentioned in the December Newsletter, all staff and students are working together to spread generosity to those less fortunate in our community.  Please be sure to send in your items before Friday, Dec 12 as Mrs. Mancini will be delivering them to the Food Bank and Calgary Drop-in Center on the weekend.
  • Kindergarten students: Please see your child’s Google Classroom page for specific information for each Kindergarten Room.
  • Grade 1 students: Please donate toiletries such as soap, shampoo, and hairbrush or combs. These everyday items make a big difference to those who don’t have access to basic necessities.
  • Grade 2 students: We are asking Grade 2 students to bring in mittens and SOCKS. As the colder weather sets in, warm mittens can provide comfort and protection for those facing the harsh winter months.
  • Grade 3 students: Toques (warm hats) and SOCKS are a great item for Grade 3 students to contribute. These are essential for staying warm during the winter and are always in demand.
  1. Grade 2 Choir will be singing during our caroling time on Thursday, Dec 18 at 1:30 in the gym and parents are welcome to join to hear the choir and participate in some old-fashioned carol singing. Please arrive at 1:15 if you would like to attend this festive time.
  2. Drum Roll Please……we have had many children asking what our play will be this year and we are excited to share that we will be doing DISNEY THROUGH THE YEARS.  This is a compilation of many different movies, songs, costumes and excitement.  There will be more details shared in the New Year and Grade 3 students will have the opportunity to try out for a narrator role for this special event that is happening on April 23, 2026.

We hope you all have a wonderful weekend and enjoy some of the joyous festivities throughout the city.

Sincerely,

Andrea Taylor – Principal @ Le Roi Daniels
