Dear Parents,

Well it is the last week of school before 2024 arrives!

There are many exciting events happening this week so please be sure to read the message below so you and your children do not miss out on any special events.

1. Fun Lunch is on Wednesday Dec 20 and orders must be placed BEFORE midnight tonight if you would like your child to participate.  Reminder that T/Th Kindie students should not order this lunch.
2. As we are getting ready for a break, we would like to remind you to please return all library and home reading books to the school on Monday.
3. Teachers and students have been working diligently over the last term and there will be updated marks in all subject areas for you to view on Friday Dec 22. Please take a moment to see how your child/ren are doing in school.   
4. Your generosity was amazing!!  Thank you so much for all the amazing gifts and donations for the Ronald McDonald House.  We were truly overwhelmed with all the gifts that were provided for those families in need.     IMG_4810.JPG 
5. LION KING AUDITIONS – Please see the attached document that outlines the audition process for our spring performance.  Auditions will take place immediately following the Christmas break.  At this time we are only asking students who are in Grade 2 & 3 who are interested in a speaking part to audition.  We know we have amazing Kindergarten and Grade 1 students and we are looking forward to seeing them in the class performances during the play.   Audition information can all be found on your child’s Google Classroom for your reference.      The Lion King Parent Letter- Auditions.docx
6. Lots of activities during the upcoming week :

Monday, Dec 18 - Students who formally celebrate Christmas as part of their religious beliefs and cultures are invited to wear their fancy, formal dress attire for a special photo opportunity to celebrate Christmas (like we have done for Eid, Diwali, Lunar New Year etc).  This is NOT A CASUAL DAY – students who do not culturally celebrate this holiday are expected to be in FORMAL UNIFORM.

Tuesday, Dec 19 - CASUAL DAY - All students are invited to wear any colour that can be found in Christmas lights.

Wednesday, Dec 20 – CASUAL DAY – All students are invited to wear a Christmas sweater

Thursday, Dec 21 – CASUAL DAY – All students are invited to wear Santa hats, elf ears or antlers.  Parents are invited to join us on this day for carolling in the gym at 1:45.  The Grade 3 Choir will also be preforming during this time.

Friday, Dec 22 – All students are invited to wear PJs for the day. This is the last day of school before the break.
