Dear Parents,

The weather has definitely brought out the joy and happiness in everyone – hopefully the snow is actually gone for the year.

Although next week is a short week, there is lots going on, so please be sure to read the message below so you do not miss anything.

  1. Monday is Formal Dress Day for those families who formally celebrate VAISAKHI.  If this holiday is part of your cultural and religious beliefs, your child is welcome to wear their FANCY, FORMAL celebration clothing on Monday.  This is NOT A CASUAL day and therefore there should be no jeans.  Students who are not celebrating this holiday should be in formal uniform as usual.
  2. Please remember to send in your empty bottles and cans to raise money to donate to the Bird Sanctuary and show kindness to the Earth.  This is an important initiative by our Kindergarten students and we are asking everyone to help them by sending in our bottles.  We will collect bottles and cans until Thursday April 17.
  3. School Council is Tuesday April 15, online.  If you are interested in attending this meeting, please email adtaylor@cbe.ab.ca by 8am on Tuesday to receive the meeting link.  We will be discussing the roles and responsibilities of council members as we will be holding our AGM on May 13 for next school year and will be looking for new executive members as many council members are leaving for Fairview next year.
  4. YEARBOOK ORDERS – if you are interested in purchasing a yearbook for your child, please go onto your CBE account and add the optional yearbook fee to your account. You will then be able to pay online.  Please note that the last day to order is April 24 and we will not be able to accept late orders.  We know that some people are experiencing difficulty with this system as the fee choices are not showing on your account- please check again this week and if it has not been fixed, please call the office and we will add it to your account manually.
  5. EASTER FANCY/FORMAL Dress day is Thursday. If your family celebrates Easter as part of your religious beliefs, please have your child wear their fancy formal Easter Sunday Church clothing on Thursday. This is not a casual day and therefore there should be no jeans.  Although we know that many families take advantage of the holiday to celebrate and connect with friends and families, only those students who formally celebrate this holiday as part of their religious and cultural beliefs should be coming in their Fancy Formal Clothing on Thursday, all other students should be coming in uniforms as usual. Thank you for understanding.
  6. Reminder that there is NO SCHOOL on Friday or Monday (April 21).

As always, we hope you all have a wonderful weekend and enjoy some family time outside in the beautiful weather.

Sincerely,

Andrea Taylor – Principal @ Le Roi Daniels
