Dear Parents,

What an exciting week with both Grade 1‘s and Grade 3’s participating in fieldtrips!

We have lots more happening in the next few days as we officially head into the Fall season.  Please be sure to read the messages below to ensure you are in the loop.

1. Fees are officially posted for all grades – we apologize for the continued delay for some grades but there have been some ongoing internet and technology glitches since the beginning of September.  However, they are now posted and we would greatly appreciate if you are able to please go onto your CBE account and pay for ALL school fees before Oct 15 as many of our fieldtrips have been planned and already require payment.  Thank you so much.
2. Thank you so much for your generosity!  We were able to raise $1325.00 during the Terry Fox Run for Cancer Research.   Thank you!!
3. Last chance to order Fun Lunch – if you would like your child to receive a fun lunch on Thursday Sept. 28, please be sure to place your order on Healthy Hunger BEFORE midnight on Saturday, Sept 23.  Reminder that M/W kindergarten should NOT order this month J
4. As all of our students remain here at the school for lunch, please be sure that you have registered for Noon Supervision (found on your CBE account under fees/service tab) this week.
5. Parents are invited to attend our Orange Shirt Day Assembly on Sept 28 at 8:30am in the school gym.  This assembly is being hosted by Rooms 17,18,19.   To honor and celebrate this important day, all staff and students are encouraged to wear an orange shirt with their NAVY uniform bottoms ( dress pants, shorts, skirt) – NOT JEANS as this is not a casual day.
6. CHANGES to the Volunteer Clearance Process:

This year, the Calgary Board of Education has made changes to the process. There will now be a cost for your security clearance. It is valid for five years and the cost is $21.25 which is charged during the online ePIC application. This fee is no longer covered by the CBE. Please visit the CPS online system, electronic Police Information Check (ePIC), https://www.calgary.ca/cps/public-services/police-information-checks.html to obtain your police clearance and be sure to share your letter of approval with the school within 60 days of receiving it from CPS.  This could take 4-6 weeks.  Letters received after that time will not be registered with CBE and the clearance process would begin again and you would have to pay a second time Thank you for your continued support and completing your volunteer clearance process.
