Dear Parents,

We hope each of you is enjoying the extra long weekend with your children!  All of the teachers have been participating in professional development at Teacher’s Convention and I am sure they will be implementing many new and wonderful ideas into their classrooms.

Couple of updates for next week:

  1. If you are interested in having your child participate in this month’s Fun Lunch – please be sure to place your order on Healthy Hunger by Friday Feb. 23.   The lunch will be delivered on Wednesday Feb. 28. Please note – T/Th Kindergarten students should not order this lunch as it is not their school day.  If you have ordered fun lunch and your child is away, their lunch will be donated unless you call the school before 11am that day and request us to hold it for you to pick up later that day.
  2. USED BOOK SALE- As many of you know, we historically have Scholastic Book Fair in March during conferences, however this year we moved our Book Fair to June and will be hosting a USED BOOK SALE during conferences.  Families are encouraged to look through their books at home and if you have gently used books (not damaged, ripped, colored on or water damaged) that you are wanting to purge and donate to the school, we will gladly accept them.  Please send any donations to the school between February 1 – March 20.  Books should be age appropriate (for children 10 years or younger).   During conferences in March, students will have an opportunity to visit the used book sale and choose some new reading material for themselves.   All books will be $5.oo or less and all funds raised will go towards purchasing new books for the Library!  Any unsold books, will be donated to charity.  We thank you in advance for your donations.
  3. Reminder that Monday is a holiday.  Hope you are able to enjoy some valued time as a family and create some wonderful family memories.
  4. Another bussing reminder :( - I am sorry to those families that this does not apply to, however it is a great reminder for all of us.  When you are picking up your children from the bus stops, please ensure you are present and visible for the driver to see (especially Kindergarten parents), in order for those kids to get off the bus.  We have many families waiting in their cars, assuming the driver will let the students off and they can find their way to the cars.  We want to make sure our youngest students are safe and with an adult.   Thank you for helping us keep our little ones safe.

We sincerely hope you have a wonderful long weekend and look forward to seeing your children back on Tuesday February 20.
