Good morning Parents,
We are getting very excited for our concert next week and are in the final stages of rehearsals. There is lots happening next week so please be sure to look at all the information below.
- Yearbook – if you have not yet ordered your yearbook, please go to your school account, under school optional fees and add it to your cart. We will only be ordering enough yearbooks for those who have pre-ordered and paid. Last day to order is April 30 and late orders will not be accepted!!
- Planning for next year – we have many families who anxiously waiting to see if we have room here at LRD for their child. If you know that your child will not be attending LRD (or Fairview for Grade 4) next year, please email the office ASAP so we can be sure to designate your child to the correct school. Thank you for your help with our planning process for next year.
- Fun Lunch is on April 25th. If you are wanting your child to participate, please be sure to place your order on Healthy Hunger before midnight on Saturday April 20th. Mon/Wed Kindergarten should NOT order this meal.
CONCERT DETAILS:
***For those of you who were in attendance last year, you know there were some concerns regarding the behaviour exhibited during our concert and therefore I would like to provide you some friendly reminders :
- We are guests in this beautiful facility. We want to always set a good example and be respectful to those around us as well as for our students. Please ensure all children are supervised at all times and following the concert, please be sure to exit the church right away as we don’t want the facility to turn into a play zone.
- During the concert, all guests need to remain in their assigned seats, remain quiet during the performance (not yelling to get their child’s attention) and please refrain from waving at your child as they cannot see the audience due to the lighting.
- There is NO videoing allowed due to licensing so please sit back and be present for the show in front of you.
- Sadly, I need to remind you that this is a school event and coming under the influence of any kind is NOT allowed. Anyone arriving smelling or acting like they are under the influence will be asked to leave. If you are someone who does participate in smoking marijuana, I would kindly ask that you Febreze your clothing prior to coming to remove any lingering smell to eliminate any doubts of being under the influence. Thank you.
- If you have not already sent your child’s colored shirt to the school, please make sure it is here by Monday and it will remain here at the school until Thursday. It will be sent home at the end of the day Thursday so students can wear it to the church. All students should be wearing their navy pants or skirts for their bottoms and all students need to be in NAVY/BLACK socks or tights with no holes as they are not wearing shoes!
- Kindergarten – brown (any shade) shirt with navy bottoms
- Grade 1 – navy (dark blue) top and bottom
- Grade 2 –
- Rm 14 –grey top and navy bottom
- Rm 15 –golden yellow or light brown top and navy bottom
- Rm 16 –brown top and navy bottom
- Rm 17 –white or black top with navy bottoms
- Rm 18 –bright blue or bright green top with navy bottoms
- Rm 19 –grey top and navy bottom
- Grade 3 –grey, brown or black top with navy bottoms
- Concert Tickets will be coming home with your children Monday or Tuesday so please be sure to check their backpack, put them in a safe place and BRING THEM WITH YOU to the concert - they are assigned seats!
- Night of the Concert:
- All Speaking CAST members need to be at the church between 4:00 - 4:15pm and they should have already eaten. They can come to the sanctuary to find LRD staff.
- The students with specialized singing parts (Friendship song, Hawaiian Luau, He Lives in Me) should be at the church by 5:30 and should have already eaten.
- Grade 2 choir students need to be at the church by 6pm sharp (they are on first!!)
- All other students need to arrive at the church between 6:00- 6:15pm, find their teachers in the foyer (there will be signs), use the washroom BEFORE going to their teacher, give shoes and coats to parents and get ready to perform.
- Please ensure all members of your group (especially children) have used the washroom before finding your seats.
- Doors will open at 6:10 to find your seats
- Concert will start at 6:30
If you arrive after the concert has started, you will not be allowed to find your assigned seat but rather be seated in the balcony so no one is disturbed. Please DO NOT be late. There is parking and entrances all around the church so please use the parking lots (north, south and west sides) instead of using the street.
